| Why not bring all or part
of your family along to enjoy one of the Family Activity Days at the Woodland Education
Centre this summer? Explore and enjoy beautiful countryside in a safe setting, with an
experienced guide to organize the whole day. Practical activities range from shelter
building to bug hunts, rock pooling and pond dipping. All activities will take place at the Woodland Education Centre in Offwell, near Honiton in
Devon, apart from Rock Pooling which will take place in nearby Lyme Regis, Dorset. The
Centre has 50 acres of wonderful wildlife habitats to explore, including many different
types of woodland, ponds, streams, a lake, wetlands, heathland and wildlflower areas. Places are limited, so to avoid disappointment don't forget to book your place on the day(s) of your choice beforehand. You can contact the Trust on 01404 831373 or email your request for a booking.

Tuesday, 1st August Pond Dipping and Woodland Exploration Can you catch a huge dragonfly larva? Discover the amazing and strange creatures that live in the pond and find out the gruesome truth about the way pond creatures feed. Then become a nature detective and look for signs of the badgers and deer that live in the woods. Also discover the minibeasts that lurk in the log pile but watch out for the frogs. |

Thursday, 17th August 11am - 4pm Teddy Bears Picnic If you go down to the woods today youre sure of a big surprise!Find out how your bear can survive in the wild and join us for a picnic. We will also discover some of the other creatures that live in the woods. |

Wednesday, 23rd August 11am - 4pm Wildlife Orienteering and Shelter Building Are you adventurous? Can you navigate the woodlands and uncover the weird and wonderful truth about the local wildlife? Afterwards build yourself a shelter that could withstand a storm. |
All children must be accompanied by an adult. The charge is £5 per child. (Accompanying adults get to enjoy the day for free!) For days out at the Woodland Education Centre, meet at Offwell Village Hall car park (directions here). Don't forget to bring a picnic lunch and plenty of drinks with you. For rock pooling in Lyme
